Cortland County Courthouse Stairs

46 Greenbush St., Cortland, NY
Overview
After being closed for over seven years due to severe salt damage and structural neglect, the main entry stairs of the Cortland County Courthouse, located at 46 Greenbush St., have been completely rebuilt. Our team replaced approximately 1,500 square feet of stairs with a durable concrete substructure protected by a PMMA coating.
New granite treads and limestone walls restored the courthouse’s historic character, while modern heat trace tubing was installed beneath the granite to prevent future freeze-thaw damage. Beginning in spring 2023, the project culminated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 5, 2024, where the stairs were rededicated to three former Cortland County Sheriffs. The result is a resilient and dignified entrance that will serve the public for decades to come.
